Jeremy Christopher Jenkins was born on July 2, 1987. Jeremy passed away suddenly on December 25, 2014. He was the oldest child of Fairy Delores Holland.
Jeremy was born in Oxnard, California and resided in Oxnard until 1994. He then moved to Lansing, New York, which he considered his childhood home. Jeremy was currently a resident of Cortland, New York. He recently completed his Electrical Maintenance Technician Certification and was employed by Glyph Production Technologies.
Jeremy was extremely personable and intelligent. He had a great sense of humor. As a child he was an amazing violinist. Jeremy was also very courageous. As a child Jeremy survived brain cancer. He fought and beat that disease which is a testament to his indomitable spirit. Jeremy was always thoughtful and inquisitive and always showed strength and maturity beyond his years.
Jeremy loved his family. He especially loved being a father to Malayshia and he loved her with all of his heart. He loved his brother Julien from the day he was born. Although they were very close in age, Jeremy took his role as Julien's big brother very seriously. He was protective of Julien and they shared a very special relationship.
Jeremy was a friend to many. Jeremy enjoyed life and he liked to have fun. He loved to "freestyle" with his friends. He would always lend a hand to anyone who needed one. He was always able to make people laugh with his keen perception and creative and colorful articulation of the way things are.
Jeremy is survived by his wife, Diana Diaz Jenkins, his daughter Malayshia Jenkins and two step-daughters, Shaila and Daniela, his mother Fairy Delores Devereaux, his loving brother Julien Jenkins, James Devereaux (step-father) his Grandmother Pearl Wilson Holland and his grandfather Melford Holland, his Uncle Timothy Holland (Erica), his Aunt Margie (Philip), his Uncle Stacy Holland(April) and Uncle Courtney Holland and his cousins Jordan, Jonah and Joshua and his nieces Savannah and Neveah Jenkins as well as a very large extended family. Jeremy's genuine kindness and love of life will remain fondly in our memories forever.
A calling hour will be held on Wednesday from 12:00-1:00PM at Wright-Beard Funeral Home with services at 1:00PM, burial will take place in the Spring.
2 Corinthians 5: 6-8 So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight. Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord.
