Bob was a lifelong resident of Truxton, and graduated Salutatorian of the class of 1963 from Truxton Central School. In 1968 he graduated from SUNY Cortland with a bachelors degree in History. Bob's passion was working the land and milking "his girls" as he called his cows. He was part owner of Twin Oaks Dairy, LLC with his brother and sister-in-law Richard and Kathie. Bob was very proud of being part of the conversion of Twin Oaks Dairy Farm to become the first certified organic dairy farm in Cortland County. He was also a proud Yankees fan and wore his baseball cap everywhere.
Robert served as the Truxton Town Justice during the 1970's. He was a member of the Truxton Methodist Church and Truxton Grange. Bob also served on the Truxton Town Board, Truxton Cemetery Association, and Truxton Grievance Committee. Most recently, he served as Secretary/Treasurer for the Organic Dairy Farmer's Cooperative.
Bob is survived by his wife of 43 years Miriam Astacio of Truxton, daughter Elizabeth M. "Lizzie" Arnold and husband Aron Kaufman of Ithaca NY, daughter Maria V.
