Richard W. "Dick" Carle 71, of Cortland, passed away unexpectedly February 2, 2015. Dick was born November 13, 1943, in Oneonta, NY, the son of the late Walter and Kathryn Perrine Carle. Dick came to the Cortland area in the 1960's and graduated from Cortland High School. He was actively involved with the Christ Community Church serving as a board member and property committee chairman. Dick had worked at Camp Georgetown Correctional Facility for over twenty years and Quik Print Service in Cortland for fifty years. In his younger years, Dick enjoyed bowling and fishing, and most recently traveling with his wife and friends to Europe, the Caribbean, Alaska and Florida. Dick is survived by his wife of 43 years, Vicki Edwards Carle, of Cortland, his children Randy Carle of Terre-Haute, Indiana, Matthew (Hope Clark) Carle of Cortland, Jodi (Jack) Gobin of Terre- Haute, Indiana, and Lindsay (Keith) Peterson of Brooklyn, NY.; his grandchildren Ashley, Casey, Jack, Adrian, Mariah, Brielle, Miah and Nola, and 3 great-grandchildren; his brother Timothy (Judy) Carle of Charleston, S.C, his sister-in-law June Riley of Cortland, and several nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his best friends Garry and Katia Marsted whom he enjoyed traveling and spending Friday evenings with, and his buddy Tucker (his dog) who was by his side everyday. In addition to his parents, Dick was predeceased by his eldest son Scott. Calling hours will be Saturday 10-11:45 am with a memorial service to begin 12:00 noon with the Rev. Dr. Janet Adair-Hansen and Fr. Paul Alciati co-officiating, at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home Inc., 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland NY, 13045.
