Obituary of Clarion John Odell

Marine Staff Sergeant Clarion “John” Odell went to be with the lord on February 7th, 2015 surrounded by his loving family.
John was born in Prompton, PA to the late Edwin & Ivah K. Odell on May 19, 1920. He was greeted in
Heaven by his parents and his siblings; Carlton, Robert, Shirley & Donald Odell.
John proudly served in the US Marine Corps from April 1942-April 1946 as radio rear gunner during the
Pacific Offense Air Action at Pearl Harbor where he was honored with the Good Conduct Medal as well
As the Occupation of Chinn in WWII. After the war, he worked as a Service Engineer for the milk division
Of International Paper in Philadelphia for 25 years.
After retirement, John took great joy in handcrafting wooden toys and furniture, bird-watching,
Gardening, camping, bowling and extensively traveling the U.S.
He will be dearly missed by his loving & devoted wife of 67 years Laura L. Milleman-Odell, his children;
Elaine (Richard) Blay, Randy (Melanie) Odell, Craig (Rhonda) Odell & Debra Bleck as well as 12
Grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Special friends Jack and Louise Thornton.
Funeral Services will be held 3:00 pm Wednesday at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home 9 Lincoln Ave.
The family will accept friends on from 1-3 pm prior to the service.
Spring burial will be in Atwater Cemetery with Military Honors.
