Obituary of Doreen Mary Hallock

Doreen Mary Heitman Hallock, 90, formerly of Hudson Street, Homer passed away on March 23, 2015 at Cortland Park Nursing Center. She was born on July 16, 1924 in South Wales, NY, the daughter of the late Harry and Zelda Heitman. Doreen will be missed by her children; Carole Hallock Deline of Cortland, Cyndee Hallock Dowd of Florida, and Tim (Cara) Hallock of Cortland, along with several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Doreen was predeceased by her husband Howard Hallock, son Lawrence Hallock and daughter Caroline Hallock Nelson, as well as siblings Donald Heitman, Loretta Cassidy, and Clarence Heitman. Doreen was employed by Homer Central School District as a school bus driver for many years. She greatly enjoyed interacting with the children who rode her bus. For relaxation, Doreen used her skills at knitting, crocheting, and sewing to create many memorable projects. A calling hour will be held Friday 1-2 pm with a funeral to begin 2 pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home, 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland NY, 13045. Spring burial will be at the Glenwood Cemetery.
