Melonie Elizabeth Weibly-Thompson
Also known as Melonie Wood, 52, of Cortland NY, went to be with her Lord on April 29, 2015. She was born February 15, 1963 in Cortland, she battled cancer through the years.
Melonie graduated at TC3 where she was honored with the Marc A. Loparco Memorial Award in 1977 to pursue a career in nursing. Melonie not only enjoyed being a nurse, but her patients loved her kindness, caring, and her devotion to her nursing duties. She worked at Aid to Victim's Violence, Tullyhill, and Beechtree. A special thank you to everyone.
Melonie in general had a great love for many people, and cared very deeply about her children. She was also a woman of strong Christian faith, who felt that her faith guided and led her.
Surviving are a daughter Stacey E. Wood, two sons David F. Wood and Luke G. (Tiffany) Wood, and her significant other Matt Czimmer all of Cortland.
She is predeceased by her parents Gerald "Ron" Weibly of Slaterville, Ruth M. Seymore Weibly of Cortland.
A memorial service will be 11 am Tuesday May 5, 2015 at the Homer Ave. United Methodist Church, 30 Homer Ave., Cortland NY, with Pastor Paul D. Winkelman officiating.
In keeping with Melonie's wishes there are no calling hours.
