Richard A. Madore 79, of Cortland, and formally of Tropicana Village, Bellevue, Florida passed away May 25, 2015. Richard was born June 2, 1935 in Bristol, Ct. the son of the late George and Clara Guimound Madore. He served his country with the US Army from 1958- 1960. Richard had worked as a mason for C.E. Webb Construction in Syracuse, then owned and operated a rural paper route, delivering the Post Standard before retiring. He was an avid motorcycle rider, and enjoyed spending time with his many friends in Florida. Richard is survived by his wife Dorothy Madore of Cortland, his son Terry (Cindy Cappa-Madore) Madore of Syracuse, grandchildren Katie, Brice, and Ryan Madore, step-grandchildren Elisa (Mayne) Thiele, and Nicole Giroux, his sister Nola Archilli of Bristol CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 am Friday in St. Mary’s Church Cortland, with the Reverend Joseph Zareski presiding, interment will follow in DeRuyter Cemetery. Friends are invited to call from 5 -8 pm Thursday at the Wright-Beard Funeral Hoe 9 Lincoln Ave. Cortland.
