Lydia J. Morse, 57, of Homer passed away on July 8, 2015 at her home. She was born April 6, 1958 in Cortland to Samuel and Marjorie Hogan Smithkin. Lydia was a dedicated employee to Pall Corporation until her illness forced her to leave. She loved spending time with family and friends laughing and sticking her tongue out and joking around with close loved ones. She enjoyed listening to music, dancing, being outside, going for roadtrips, she loved spending time with her grandchilden and will be dearly missed by all of her friends and family. In addition to her parents Lydia is predeceased by her half-sister; Helen Smith, sister-in-law Angie Smithkin. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Charles Morse, her Son; Mark (Lindsey Tennant ) Morse of Homer, her daughters ; Tamara Rice of Payson, AZ, Holly (Jay) Stanley of Cortland, Deanna (Chad LaShomb) Morse of Homer, her brother; John Smithkin of Virginia, her Sister; Evelyn (Paul) Westbrook of Groton, brother and sister-in-law; Peter (Bonnie) Besner, 11 grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Lydia also leaves behind her canine companion Chewy W. Morse. Calling hours will be on Saturday from 2:00 - 4:00 PM at Wright-Beard Funeral Home 9 Lincoln Ave. Cortland NY, with services at 4:00 PM led by Pastor Guy Rathmell and Brian Hill.
