Charles A. “Charlie” Burk, 81, of Cortland passed away July 9, 2015 at the VA Home in Oxford, NY. Born in April 10, 1934, he was the son of Rolland and Pearl Burk. He graduated Cortland High School and spent 2 years in the Army Serving in the Pentagon in 1970. Charlie bought a motel in Clearwater, Florida and moved the family there. Missing the country he moved back where he stated his 40 + years in R V Sales. He loved everything outdoors, from riding his 4 wheeler around his property, deer hunting, riding around in his caddy convertible with his constant companion his dog Mia. He loved going to Alex Bay, camping and especially boating. Charlie enjoyed going to Gators, and the DAV and having a Cold Draft Beer with his buddies. He was always up for a game of pitch; Charlie is survived by his wife Elly, sons Tim of Cortland, Dan (Brenda) of Webster, NY, Brian of Ft. Myers, Fla. Michael of Owego, and Renee (Doug) Patten of Dike, Iowa. He is also survived by his first wife and mother of his kids, Joan L Burk. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Wendell. Charlie had a quick wit and always a smile. He loved his family deeply. He had a lot of friends and is going to be missed. “HAVE I GOT A DEAL FOR YOU! Calling will be held Saturday from 2-4 pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home 9 Lincoln Ave. Cortland followed by a short service beginning at 4 pm.
