Robert Joseph "Bob" Kelley, 74, entered the gates of Heaven September 1, 2015. He was born August 15, 1941 in Cortland the son of the late Robert and Leona Cruthers Kelley. Bob lived in Cortland all his life working at SUNY Cortland, Overhead Door Co., and the JM Murray Center. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church where he served as an usher. Bob enjoyed spending his days for last eleven years at the Medical Day Program at the Cortland Regional Medical Center. Bob's most cherished time was living at Ellis Pines where he was lovingly cared for by the staff of Elder Choice Home Care and spending his evenings playing cards and games with his neighbors. He is survived by his sister Patricia "Patty" Ferro, his nieces Lori (Dave) Johnson, Gail (Tom) Beattie, three great nephews Shawn Allen, Jonathan Allen, Connor Beattie, and great great nephew Finn Allen. A calling hour will be held Saturday 10-11 am with a memorial service to begin 11 am at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home Inc., 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland NY, with Fr. Joseph Zareski presiding. In lieu of flowers PLEASE make contributions may be made to either the SPCA, 879 McLean Rd., Cortland NY 13045 or Cortland Memorial Foundation, 134 Homer Ave., Cortland NY, 13045.
