Robert W. Gay passed away October 13, 2105 answering his wife’s call from heaven he was 94. He was born on October 19, 1920 to Walter and Leila F. Twining Gay in Greene, NY. He graduated from Cortland JR SR High School in 1938 and married Theresa Sycuskein in 1940. Bob owned and ran a printing shop in Homer, worked at the Post Standard in Syracuse and worked at the Cortland Standard, in the composing room for over 40 years. He was a long time member of the Homer Congregational Church, belonging to various boards and Committees. He was a long time member and past president of the Cortland’s Men’s Garden Club or America. He was a long time member and past treasurer of the Homer Chapter NO 222 Order of the Easter Star, along time member and past secretary of the Homer Masonic Lodge # 352 and received the Dedicate4d Service Award. And also a long time member of the Order of the Amaranth. Bob enjoyed traveling, gardening crossword Puzzles, reading and going to Carl’s and Cindy’s Diner for coffee with his friends. He will be gravely missed by his family and friends. He is survived by one son Walter (Sharon) Gay of Newfield, one daughter Joanne Cincotta of Homer; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; one brother Wm Sanford (Luella) Gay of Cortland, nieces and nephews Isaac Cline, Bob was predeceased by his parents, one brother two sisters a son and grandson. There will be no services. Interment will be at a later date.
