Please accept my condolences on the passing of Mr. Parsons. He was my Sixth grade teacher and was a wonderful man. When he yelled at one of the boys, his face would get beet red and he reminded me of Santa Claus. That year stands out in my mind as we did cool science projects like making a motor from scratch using copper wire and wood. It was also the year that I gave Brad Perkins a black eye on the playground and Mr. Parsons never yelled at me. I decided that year that my career was to be a Nun Gym Teacher. I don't think I got his input on that and it never happened, but it was also the year we wrote our first research paper, which I think I still have somewhere. My aunt and uncle went to Ghana that year and I chose to write about the country for my paper. Other teachers were good in Dryden but this teacher is one who stands out in my memory as being one of the very best. Again, please accept my sincere condolences. Maureen Sullivan Maus

Mr. Parsons was a neighbor on Lamont Circle for most of my life--he was a fixture of the neighborhood! I'm so sorry to hear of his passing, and send all of my best wishes to his family.

I had the privilege of knowing Mort through his work on the CAPCO Board of Directors. He was such a kind, respectful man, I always enjoyed seeing him. He will be missed.

Morton and I were a class apart in school but were "in school" in McGraw for years. I enjoyed his friendship and his wit. I got one of my first motorcycle rides when he got his first motorcycle. I taught in Springfield - a few miles from Cherry Valley and I know how much Mort was appreciated there when he taught. He was a good man.
My sympathy,
Esther
