Michael Wayne “MAD DOG” Spencer, 67, of Cortland, passed away December 27, 2015 in Ithaca, NY. Michael was born September 11.1948 in Endicott, NY the son of the late Albert Howard and Floy Inez Girten Spencer. He faithfully served his country with the US Army during Viet Nam, and was awarded the Bronze Star. He had been employed by Glyph Technologies in Homer, and was an avid motorcycle Rider, Fisherman, and Birdwatcher. His memberships included the VFW. Michael is survived by his sisters: Carol Spencer of Dansville, Donna Neal and Linda Spencer of Cortland, step brothers Ronald, John, Michael, Rikki, step sisters Jackie, Susie, Robin and Lynne ,nieces Heather Mitchell and Lisa Clark. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his longtime girlfriend Suzanne Welge. A Memorial service will be held Thursday January 7, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home 9 Lincoln Ave. friends are invited to call from 1:00 – 2:00 pm prior to the service. Interment will be in the spring.
