Norman L. Knapp, age 86, went to be with the Lord on 12/30/15 at Cortland Regional Medical Center. He was born 12/13/29 in Little York, NY, the son of Fenton and Floy Knapp. He was pre-deceased by his parents and his brother Norton. He graduated from Homer Central High School in 1947. He was very active in 4-H and Grange membership. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, carpentry, masonry and gardening. Norm served in the US Army 1953-55 and the NY National Guard 1955-58, achieving the rank of Master Sargent. He was a member of the American Legion. He worked for Smith Corona for 33 years and for 6 years as a people-greeter at WalMart, when they first came to Cortlandville. Norm was a member at Bible Baptist Church of Cortland where he served in many positions over the years. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sally (Strack) Knapp of Little York, a daughter Judy (Stan) Wnuk of Little York, and a son, Brian (Becky) Knapp of Alexandria, VA, five grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Also a sister, Shirley Knapp, of Cortland. A celebration of Norman's Life with an open house will be held Saturday 4-7 pm at Bible Baptist Church, 15 West Rd., Cortland NY, 13045. Friends and family are invited to come encourage the family during these hours.
