Rosalie M Bennett, 74 of Cortland, passed away on February 13, 2016 at Cortland Regional Medical Center. She was born on July 23, 1941 a daughter of the late Francis and Berneice Hull Grinnell. Rosalie was a lifelong resident of Cortland area attending local schools. She had been employed by Smith Corona, and most recently as a Home Health Aide for Cortland County. Rosalie married the late Samuel Bennett at Homer Avenue United Methodist Church in 1990. She was a member of Homer Avenue United Methodist Church, and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Rosalie is survived by two sons; William Farnham, Jr., Cortland, Michael Ellis, Liverpool, two brothers; Arthur and Joanne Grinnell, McGraw, Neil Grinnell, Scott, two sisters; Shirley and Robert Randolph, Cortland, Nancy and Adrian Baldwin, Preble, four grandchildren; Courtney, Amanda, Riley and Brayden Ellis, as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. A calling hour will be Wednesday 11 am - 12 pm with a funeral service to begin at 12 pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home Inc., 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland NY, 13045. Spring burial will take place in Scott Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Rosalie's name can be made to Homer Avenue United Methodist Church, 30 Homer Avenue, Cortland, NY 13045
