Marjorie Keenan Colasurdo, 94, of Cortland NY, passed away March 6, 2016 at the Cortland Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She was born August 19, 1921 in Syracuse NY the daughter of the late Frank and Eva Bentley Keenan. Marjorie came to the Cortland area as a child with her family. She attended and graduated from St. Mary's in 1939. After graduating high school she worked at Carrier Corp. in Syracuse for seven years. She later took employment with Grand Union and worked there for twenty nine years, 1954-1983, until retiring. She was a longtime communicant of St. Mary's Church, Cortland. Marjorie was a proud and active Democrat for many years. She will also be remembered as a devoted Notre Dame, NY Yankees, and NY Giants fan She is survived by her son James R. Colasurdo of Binghamton, her nieces Mary Lee Twiggs, Martha Schuyler, Maryanne Fadele, her nephews Peter Brown and Michael Colasurdo, several great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Henry Colasurdo, her sisters Henrietta Brown and Frances Lanigan. Calling hours will be Wednesday 5-8 pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home Inc., 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland NY, 13045. A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Marjorie's life will be Thursday 10:30 am at St. Mary's Church, Cortland NY. A prayer service will be held Thursday 10 am at Wright-Beard Funeral Home prior to mass. Burial will follow mass at the St. Mary's Cemetery.
