Tanya J. McKay Carman, 32, of 50 Port Watson St. Cortland, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 1, 2012.
Tanya was born on October 3, 1979, the daughter of Susan M. Little.
She graduated from Cortland High School in 1998 and was previously employed by the 1890 House, Cortland County SPCA and Mariette Packaging before leaving due to illness. She loved caring for her children and she will be deeply missed.
Survivors include her mother Susan M. Little, her daughter Courtney and son Michael, fiancÃĩ Joe Grant, sister Brenda Shepard of Peruville, twin brothers Jim McKay of Pennsylvania and Jason McKay of Syracuse and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her father Ron McKay and brother Tom McKay.
A memorial service will be held Friday at 12 noon at Wright-Beard Funeral Home Inc. 9 Lincoln Ave. Cortland.

Tanya was my best friend for 13+ years and she was more than a friend she wad my sister our daughters were friends and she was always there for me it I am devastated of the news of her passing she will forever live in my heart and I will never forget the memories that we shared love always kellie, Kathlyn, savannah & Bob
Imet Tanya around 8 years ago and she was an amazing woman with amazing kids. I enjoyed every moment we all got to spend together and am now regretting letting life get in the way and am realizeing that you never know. I am so dearly sad to her of this loss, I hope her children will be ok. Sorry, Christine, Matt and Samantha
