Obituary of Gary E. Brown

Gary E. Brown, 75, of Cortlandville passed away March 16, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born June 22, 1940 in Cortland the son of the late Clarence and Gladys Cleveland Brown. Gary was a lifelong resident of the area. He had been employed with Cortland Overhead Door Co., United Brotherhood of Carpenter's Union #603, R & M Farm Equipment, and Co-Vale Farms during retirement. In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, and boating. Some of his greatest joys were spending time at the family cottage on Cayuga Lake, family geneology and being the unofficial neighborhood watchman. He is survived by his wife Sandra Brown, his twin sons Martin and Mark Brown, his daughters Danie'l Fish, Denise (Kevin) King, his brother Mike Gill, his sister Kathy Rutland, his grandchildren Alex and Ethan King, Carey, Erica, Sheena, Sara, Bethany, Nathan, Marty, Katee, and Caleb,12 great grandchildren, his uncle Ralph (Jo) Cleveland, father in law Robert (Loretta) Theleman, sister in law Randi Carlisle and many nieces, nephews and friends In addition to his parents Gary was predeceased by his sons Scott and Jason Brown, and his sister Sue Harris. At Gary's request there are no services. The Wright-Beard Funeral Home is serving the family. Contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
