Hollis (Holly) Ashley D’Andrea died on the 28th of March, 2016, suddenly, while at home, of natural causes. She was born November 29th, 1948, the daughter of the late Dr. Tracy and Mrs. Mary Ashley, in Mineola, NY, and was the 4th generation of her family to reside in Cortland County. Holly graduated from Greenbriar College, Salem College, and obtained a Masters Degree at the University of Pittsburgh, in Social Work. She had a 25+ year career at the Cortland County Health Department. She also maintained a small private practice. She was an 8 year member of the mental health subcommittee and served on the YWCA Board. She loved swimming, and had fond memories of family gatherings at their home on Skaneateles Lake. Later in life, she loved gardening and her favorite therapy dog, Isabella, was always by her side. Her strong faith was expressed by her love of nature and deep spirituality. She is survived by her daughter, Laura Ashley, her sister Mary Jayne Lipe, her nephews and nieces James (Mackenzie) and Chris (Palma) Goss, Michael, John (Shea), Justin, and Jordan D’Andrea, her mother-in-law Eleanor D’Andrea and her 2 brother-in-laws Charles (Jennifer) and Mario (Christine). Mrs. Hollis D’Andrea was predeceased by her husband, Frank James D’Andrea in 2000, and her brother-in-law Burt Lipe in 2008.
