Obituary of Marion Loraine Dallaire

Marion Loraine Dallaire, 82, of Homer, a cancer survivor, passed away Saturday, August 25, 2012 at her home after a long and difficult battle with COPD.
Born in Cortland, Marion was the daughter of Edward & Effie Mae Frazier of Scott. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Pete Dallaire, her sister Geraldine, brother Sonny and stepbrother Dick.
Marion is survived by: sons Gary Dallaire of Homer, Bill(Cindy Horton) Dallaire of Cortland, grandchildren: Carissa Newman, of Rochester, Isabella Dick-Dallaire of Homer, Billie Mae Dallaire, of Groton, Robbie Dallaire, and Dillon Dallaire of Cortland. Great grandchildren: Julian and Kylie Turtur of Groton.
Early in her career Marion served as an executive assistant to three attorneys in Syracuse, NY, she work for Dr. Potter, DVM , of Homer as office manager and lastly she co-administrated the New York Migrant Child Care office, in Cortland.
Marion enjoyed reading, horseback riding, bicycling, tennis, softball, swimming & playing pitch. She really loved music and dancing. She hosted her sons rock bands rehearsal in her home for years and would dance to the music the whole time. She also enjoyed gardening, her favorite flowers were yellow roses. She loved to travel and spent time in Mexico, Florida, Pennsylvania and took frequent trips to New York City to visit her son, attend shows and shop! Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She took great joy and affection from you know the family cat.
In her final months, Marion felt very fortunate to have the exemplary, loving care, and tender comfort of Brandy Tillotson and frequently expressed her appreciation of Cindy Horton and Nate Horton for their continuous help and favors.
Funeral services will be held 11:00AM. Friday August 31st,at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home 9 Lincoln Ave. with the Reverend Lucian Urbaniak officiating.
Calling hours will be held 4:00 PM €“ 6:00 PM, Thursday August 30th and Friday, August 31st from 10:00 AM €“ 11:00 AM. interment will follow in Glenwood Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of HOSPICE for the care given to Marion during her illness.
