Obituary of Raymond F. Thomas, Sr.

Raymond F. Thomas, Sr. 69 of East Freetown passed away on May 12, 2016 at Cortland Regional Medical Center. He was born on March 22, 1947 a son of the late Homer and Marjorie DuVall Thomas. Raymond worked for Smith Corona as a forklift operator until they closed. He worked previously as a dairy farmer and mechanic. Raymond enjoyed spending his free time working on old cars, remodeling the house and spending time with his family. Raymond is survived by his wife, Alice M. Thomas, his oldest sons Raymond F Thomas JR and his wife Tammy Thomas of Pitcher NY, Jeffery W Thomas of Cortland NY, his daughter Laurieann D Thomas-Nielsen of Cincinnatus NY and youngest son Jason E Thomas and his wife Jean Thomas of Cortland NY. Has 20 Grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Has one living brother Joseph Thomas of Erieville NY and one sister Betty Sabin of Marathon NY and predeceased by his sisters Ginger and Caroline Thomas and brothers Melvin DuVall and Harold Thomas. And many nieces, nephews, sister in laws, brothers in laws, and many many friends Calling hours will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM Monday at Wright-Beard Funeral Home, Inc., 9 Lincoln Ave, Cortland. Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, Homer, NY.
