Dear Mrs. Ferris. I remember Wayne well as a friend, especially when I was growing up. Wayne taught me how to tackle and play football in grade school when we used to go over to Fred and Barbara Gross' House. Wayne and I used to go trick or treating together also in 7th and 8th grades. Of course when we got to High School Wayne was the BMOC being the star athlete on the Basketball team. After High School we kinda lost touch, but I heard about him from other members of our class. I am sorry for your loss, and his passing in a loss for me to, and he was a good friend in grade school to me. Respectfully, Charles D. Alexander

I am so sorry to hear this. As our next door neighbors, we had many a basketball session in front of the garage, as well as many sandlot baseball games.
To the Ferris family, I am praying that our Lord and Savior shower you with His grace and blessings at this your time of sorrow. May Wayne rest in peace.

To the entire family of Wayne please accept our deepest sympathy. Jim and Jane know who I am and this is for the other family members who don't. I also grew up in McGraw. I was the catcher for Wayne for most of his pitching career from Little League, Pony League and then high school so we spent many unforgettable hours together playing baseball. We practiced many hours in his driveway also with his Dad watching us. Well that is if his Dad wasn't cutting someone's hair. We also played soccer together on the school team. Wayne was a great friend and I had just started reconnecting with him on Face Book. He will be dearly missed.
Being a father, grand-father and great-grandfather I'm always asked by my kids to tell stories about my past. If any family member has a question about Wayne growing up that I may be able to answer please let me know.
RIP my friend and know I'll be seeing you again someday.
Your friend always
Larry
