Kathy Jeanine Rose, 65, of Marathon NY, passed away in the early morning hours of Thursday September 1st 2016, after a six month battle with Cancer. She was surrounded by family and passed peacefully, with the help of the caring staff at Hospicare in Ithaca NY. Kathy was born on January 15th 1951 at King's Daughters Hospital in Ashland, KY. Kathy served as a loyal and devoted wife to John "Jack" Rose for 47 years , from October 1969 until the day of her death. They served each other in business, starting a window contracting company from the ground up, together, in 1992. DaMaCo has been run from their home ever since. Kathy was the most loving and caring Mother & Grandmother imaginable, to five children, five grandchildren, and two blended grandchildren. Kathy had many hobbies that included crafts, cooking, gardening, reading, bird watching, shopping and spending as much time as she could with her loved ones, especially her beloved Yorkshire Terrier, Finny. Kathy was preceded in death by her Sister, Karen Manitsas, her Mother, Phyllis Chapman and her Grandson, Alex Rose. She is survived by her Husband John "Jack" Rose, her Father, Roddrick Chapman, her Sister, Kayleen (James) Beadle, her Brother Albert Chapmen, her children, Sons: John "Darrell" Rose, Matthew Rose and Paul Manitsas. Her Daughters: Courtney (Thomas Beach) Cook, Lauren (Kevin) Farrell and Holly (Kevin Giangarra) Marade. Finally, her Grandchildren, Zachery Rose, Robert "Bobby" Cook, Michael Cook, and Kevin Giangarra, Jr. And her blended grandchildren, Laney & Kolton Beach. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, September 6th 2016, between 4-6 pm, at the Wright Beard Funeral Home, 9 Lincoln Avenue, Cortland NY 13045. There will be no traditional funeral services.
