Kenneth R. Buggs, Sr. 94 of Cortland, NY and Port Charlotte, FL passed away peacefully Sunday, September 4, 2016 at Cortland Regional Medical Center. Ken was born in Cortland, a son of the late Arthur and Jane Mann Buggs. Ken graduated from Cortland High School, then entered the U.S. Army from 1942-1946, serving with the 3rd Army, Patton's 3rd Armored Division. After the war Ken married the late Madeline "Mickey" Carr, they were married for 51 years. He worked at Kellogg Auto Supply in Cortland and later became the owner until his retirement. After his retirement Ken and Mickey enjoyed winters in Florida and summers on Skaneateles Lake. Ken was an avid Golfer, and former member of Cortland Country Club and Willow Brook Golf Club. He was a former member of New Smyrna Elks Club, current member Cortland American Legion Post 489, Past president of Cortland Kiwanis Club. Ken especially enjoyed watching the NY Yankees and Buffalo Bills, as well as Syracuse and Duke Basketball. Ken was predeceased by his wife, Madeline, his parents, Arthur and Jane Buggs, brother George, Wilfred, and sister Mildred Harvey. Ken is survived by his sons, Kenneth Jr. (Toni), Thomas (Katie), Ronald (Cheryl) grandchildren, Amy Buggs (Ryan Riese), Jennifer Buggs, Tim Buggs, Melanie Buggs (Darrin) Armin, Colleen Buggs, Kevin Buggs, Eric Buggs great-grandsons Braeden Armin, Avery Armin and many nieces and nephews. A calling hour will be held 2:00-3:00 PM Wednesday, September 7, 2016, with a time of sharing to follow at 3:00 PM at Wright-Beard Funeral Home, Inc. 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland. Interment will follow in Cortland Rural Cemetery. In lieu of Flowers please consider making a contributions to a charity of your choice in Ken's name
