My deepest condolences to Mr. Adams and family. Not only was Mrs. Adams my teacher (and indeed knew what she was talking about - she was serious, but truly cared about us. I reconnected when she was also a patron when I worked at the market. Was so glad to be in touch with her after graduation.
Please know prayers and love are with you all RIP Mrs. Adams

Funny, the things one remembers.
I remember Mrs. Adams as strong, business-like and serious back in 1963. She was a hard worker who expected us to be also. One day the classroom phone rang, she answered it, listened a minute, and collapsed against the blackboard just for a second. She then turned and hung up the phone. We all sat there wondering what she had heard.
I can see it all like it was yesterday.
John F. Kennedy had been shot in Dallas.
My condolences to her family.
Rest in peace, Mrs. Adams. Say hi to the Whitings for me.

My sincere condolences to your family. Mrs. Adams was a very good history teacher and demanded a lot of respect from her students. One memory I have of her was the day she told me that we were related! Her uncle married my aunt I think, I may be wrong about that. She helped to make me appreciate history.

Shirley was truly an outstanding and dedicated professional in every way; a gifted and talented educator; highly knowledgeable in her field; inspiring to students, staff and to me as her Principal; my dear friend. I loved entering her classroom for I heard, saw and felt history come alive. Her students were so very fortunate!
Peter, Carolyn and I send our sincere sympathies and condolences. Both of you are in our prayers.

Mrs. Adams is one of the teachers we remember most from Homer High School, especially at this historic moment in our country's history. Her passion for history, her fierce dedication to our learning, and her creativity are memorable, even legendary. She made an impression. Please accept our condolences on her passing.
