Obituary of James R. Colasurdo

James Robert Colasurdo 66, of Vestal, NY passed away February 12, 2017 at Mercy House in Endicott, NY. He was born August 28, 1950 to Marjorie Keenan and HenryColasurdo in Cortland, NY. He was predeceased by his parents, aunts and uncles. He is survived by his cousins Peter Brown and his wife Connie, Martha Schuyler and her husband Claude, Mary Twigg and her husband, Todd, Michael Colasurdo and his wife Patty, Ronnie Colasurdo and his friend, Nancy, Mary Ann Fadale and her husband Carl, and several 2nd and 3rd cousins and their spouses. He is also survived his best friend and caregiver Joanne Rauscher. Jim graduated from St. Mary's High School in Cortland, NY in 1968, Broome Technical Community College, and Gannon University, Erie PA. He was an avid sportsman and always followed his Alma Maters along with the Yankees, Giants and Syracuse. One of his proudest achievements was to receive his medallion for 22 years sobriety in Alcoholic's Anonymous. Jim was employed over the years with A.G. Bartholomew Inc., Metropolitan Life,Security Mutual Life Insurance Co of New York, and Boston Mutual Insurance Company. Joanne would like to thank all the family and friends who were there supporting Jim and helping in any way they could. It meant the world to Jim and I couldn't have made it through without you all. Calling hours are Thursday 4–7pm at Wright Beard Funeral Home, 9 Lincoln Ave. Cortland, with funeral mass at St Mary's Church, 10:30 Am Friday. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Cortland.
