Obituary of David B. Olson

David B. Olson, of Hanford Dr., Dryden, passed away February 27, 2017 at 71, in Ithaca, NY. Mr. Olson was born December 10, 1945, in Quincy, Massachusetts to the late James Raymond and Mary Pauline Surette Olson. Mr. Olson was a longtime resident of the Tompkins/Cortland county area. He had been employed at Brewer-Titchener (Cortland), Singer-Link (Binghamton), and BorgWarner (Ithaca) until his retirement in 2008. He had been a communicant of the Holy Cross Church of Dryden. He was a former member of the Rotary Club of Dryden and served as the club treasurer. He was proud member of AA for over 30 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed getting out with his dog, golfing, his Tuesday lunch group, playing tennis, reading, and walking. Mr. Olson is survived by his daughters Michelle K. Olson of Denver, CO and May L. Olson of Dryden, NY; three stepdaughters, Nichole Albanese of New York, NY, Anne Knight of Newfield, NY, and Michelle Stickel of Kissimmee, FL; one brother James P. Olson Sr. in Vermont; six grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Olson was predeceased by his wife Christine Olson in 2008. Friends are invited to call on Monday, March 6th, 2017 5-7p at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home (9 Lincoln Ave, Cortland). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 7th, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home, with Fr. Eloo officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Cortland.
