Obituary of Hilton H. Tanney

Hilton (Sam) Tanney entered into eternity on March 12th,2017 at Cortland Park Nursing Center after a battle with cancer. He was born on October 17th 1936 in Lyons Falls, NY to Hilton G Tanney and Francis Larabee Tanney. He attended Moravia Central School and entered the Marine Corps in 1956 thru 1962, He was employed for UPS in Cortland for 35 years.Cortland School district as a bus driver and also Brinie Bus. His last employment was at United auto supply. He was also a member of the full gospel business men and enjoyed his many friends and members. He also enjoyed gardening and playing Horseshoes. He was a member of the Tri county Horseshoe club. He is survived by his wife Sandy, his daughters Julie and Cheryl, his sons, Jeff and Beth Sattuck, Phillip Shattuck. His sister Bonnie and brother in law Lew. Grandchildren Matthew,Jeremy Austin, Dylan, Brandon, and Ryan. Great grandchildren Kayla and Keith. He was predeceased by his brother Joseph Lamb. Services will be at Wright Beard funeral home 9 Lincoln Ave. Cortland NY Friday March 17th at 11 am. Burial we be at a later date.
