Obituary of Jerome Edwin Tifft

Jerome "Edwin" Tifft, 80, of Marathon passed away March 24, 2017 at his residence with his loving family by his side. He was born on August 28, 1936 a son of the late Jerome S. and Hattie Breeds Tifft. Jerome was employed by New York State Energy and Gas in Ithaca until his retirement. He served his country with the United States Air Force from 1955 to 1958. Jerome loved camping and enjoyed trips in his motor home to Skyline Drive, Warren County, Virginia. He enjoyed building model cars, religious programs on TV and enjoyed and always looked forward to spending time with his grandchildren. Jerome married the love of his life the former, Marjorie Basl, on September 16, 1961. Jerome is survived by his loving wife, Marjorie, three sons, Jerome (Roslie) Tifft, Jr., Joseph Tifft, James "Jim" Tifft, two daughters, Gail Noel, Cynthia Torres, one brother Paul Tifft, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a sister, Betty Head. Calling hours will be held 6:00-7:00 Pm Tuesday, March 28 at Wright-Beard Funeral Home, Inc., 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland, NY 13045
