Richard S. Hammond 93, born on June 29, 1923 at Waterloo, NY a son of the late Charles Kenneth and Mildred Hammond.
Richard lived in Liverpool, NY for many years, graduated from Liverpool High School in 1941 and received his college Education at Syracuse and Cornell University Majoring in Electronic Engineering. Richard honorably served in the United States Army Air Corp during WWII and in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged from the military. Richard retired from Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation in 1984 with 34 years of service. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Homer NY.
Richard was predeceased by his first wife, Phyllis in 1973 and second wife Marion in 1987, step daughter, Linda Tallman 2017, a sister, Helen Hiller, son Richard Jr., and a daughter, Elizabeth.
He is survived by one sister Barbara Burgmeier of Liverpool, two daughters, Nancy Alvord and Claire Hartranft. He is also survived by four sons, Bruce, Greenville, Texas, Roger, Sheds, New York, James, Camillus, NY and Paul San Antonio, Texas, plus 10 grandchildren and three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A calling hour will be held from 10-11am Friday, June 16th at the First United Methodist Church, Homer NY, A memorial service will be held immediately following at the church at 11am.
Private Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Camillus, NY.
