Janet L. Pottorff 53 of Cuyler passed away July 20, 2012
Janet was born March 27, 1959 in Cortland, the daughter of Donald and Patricia Monroe
Janet was a 1977 graduate of McGraw High School, and then obtained her LPN certification from TC3 in 1999. She enjoyed crocheting, and quilting.
Prior to obtaining her LPN license she was a day care provider at her home, she most recently was employed at the Cortland Regional Medical Center for the past 18 years.
Janet is survived by her children Brandi Beers, of Maryland, Scott Beers of Pennsylvania, her mother Patricia Monroe, brothers: Jeffery and Jarrod Monroe, sister Judy Fink, Joann McNeill, her granddaughter Shianne Beers, Several nieces and nephews.
Janet was predeceased by her father Donald Monroe and brother James Monroe.
Memorial services will be held 1:00 pm Tuesday at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home 9 Lincoln Ave. Cortland with the Reverend Matthew Smith officiating. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
Friends are invited to call from 11:00 am €“ 12:45 pm prior to the service.

I am so sorry for our loss of janet. i am an RN who worked with her for 9 years and she never had an unpleasant word to say. she was so wonderful in spirit and a wonderful nurse....she touched many peoples lives and this world is better having had her in it. please know i have cried tears for her and prayed that she made it to the other side peacefully. i am so sorry for her struggles. i am so happy to have known her. best of everything to the mourning family. god bless. kim barhite

Janet it has been over a month since that terible day I found out I lost you and not a day goes by I dont pick up the phone to call you.
