Obituary of Edward Joseph Michael Demartino

Edward Joseph Michael Demartino, 68 of Cortland passed away on June 24, 2017. He was born on August 8, 1948 a son of the late Emmitt and Phyllis Horn Demartino. Edward served his country with the United States Army from 1969-1974. He worked for George Junior Republic, as a crisis intervention counselor, until his retirement. After his retirement Edward took care of step son. Edward previously worked for Smith Corona Manufacturing as a machine operator. He was avid bowler. Edward was very religious, and was an ordained pastor. Edward is survived by his daughter, Lynn (John Stillman) Demartino, three grandchildren, Britney, Brenden, and Dalton Stillman, two nieces, Shirley Todd, Sharon Holl. Edward was predeceased by his sister Cathy and his dog, Eighty One. Graveside services will be held, 11:00 AM Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Virgil Rural Cemetery. Wright-Beard Funeral Home, Inc. is assisting the family with arrangements.
