Ruth Agnes Chavoustie, 76, of McGraw, NY went to be with the lord on Sunday, October 29, 2017. Ruth was born on September 14, 1941 in Rochester, NY. The daughter of the late Benton and Edith Block. Ruth graduated from Lyme Central School. In 1959, she married Charles Chavoustie Sr. and together they created a loving family. Her most important role was being with and raising her children and grandchildren. In 1993, she retired from the Rubbermaid Corporation. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church. Some of her favorite past-times were watching the Yankees, Syracuse Men's Basketball games, and NASCAR. She especially cherished time with her family. She is survived by her children, Charles Jr. (Suzanne), Andrew (Debra), Teresa (Lee) Ripley, Mary (Todd) Caufield, Patricia (Mark) Helms, Rebecca (Blaine) Davis, and her beloved son Timmy. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Julia, Andrew Jr., Kira (David), Stephen (Angelique), Seth, Hunter, Melissa, Taylor and Michael, and her great grandchildren, Stella, Benjamin, and Lucas; and sisters Margaret Ball, Dorothy Sehl, and Joan Wiley. Ruth's family will always admire her strength and courage as she battled Multiple Sclerosis. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Charles Mathew Chavoustie Sr. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, November 1, from 6 to 8pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home, Inc. A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday at St. Mary's Church Cortland at 10am. Burial will follow at the McGraw Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Mary's Church or School.
