Obituary of Camelia Donaldson

Surrounded by loved ones, Camelia "Cammy" Bernadette Donaldson, 74, of Cortland, NY peacefully returned to her Maker on Wednesday, December 20, 2017. Cammy was born in Massena, NY on July 22, 1943, the daughter of the late Joseph Frances "Victor" and Bernadette Bordeau. She was a long-time resident of Massena, NY where she graduated with the Massena Central High School Class of 1961. She was married to Lawrence Earl Donaldson Sr. on August 26 of the same year. She managed an active household and lovingly matured five children. Beginning in 2001, Cammy and Lawrence shared their retirement years close to their daughters and their families in Cortland, NY and Naples, FL. Next to her faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, her commitment to her family was certainly her source of joy. Quality time with them was her heart's desire and her love language. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Lawrence Donaldson, Sr.; sons Todd (Carole), Lawrence Jr. (Karen) and Jimmy (Sasha); daughters Kelly (Thomas) Lykos and Karen (Sam) Schuepbach; grandchildren Matthew, Kristina, Chelsea and John Michael (Donaldson); Alexander, Demetrios and Danielle (Lykos) and Marissa, Gabrielle and Ariana (DeFranco); sisters Noella (Dalton), Virginia (Fiacco) and Margaret (Holloway). She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Gerald and Victor; sisters Renee (Angevine), Jenny (Baxter) and Lucille (Burnham); step-brothers Rolland, Romeo and John Paul (Bordeau) and step-sister Juliette (Boyer). The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Noor-UI Amin, M.D., and the nursing staff at Cortland Regional Medical Center for their support and exceptional quality of care. Private memorial with family and friends will be held at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home Inc., 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland NY, 13045 at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 31, 2017.
