Obituary of Millard A. Dayton

Millard A. Dayton, 80, of Page Green Road, Cortland passed away Saturday June 30th, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
He was born in Cortland on June 29th, 1932 to the late Arthur J. and Adelaide Harris Dayton.
Millard for many years operated the family farm on Page Green Rd., Top of the Hill Farm. He was a dairy farmer until 1987 but continued to farm until his passing. He had also worked as a farmer and a handyman for George Jr. Republic and most recently as a truck driver for Autozone. Millard battled and survived cancer, after which he and his wife became very active with fundraising for cancer research. He loved the outdoors, photography and his kids and grandkids who will cherish his memory.
Millard is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Laura Boyce Dayton, sons Arthur J. Dayton in Colorado, Steve Dayton (Toni McAllister) of Marathon, daughter, Leslie (Dan) Morrison of Cortland, brother, Harris (Barbara) Dayton of Dryden, grandchildren, Jessie Dayton, Harley Spatz, Danielle (Adrian) Brown, Jenelle Dayton (Jeff Riker), Crystal Dayton, Teather White (Dan Maricle), Johnathon Morrison, great grand children, Emma, Niko, Bryce and Adrian and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Irene Dayton.
A funeral service will be held Thursday evening at 7:00 PM at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home, 9 Lincoln Ave, Cortland, with the Rev. Robert Lindley officiating. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home Thursday 4:00- 6:45 prior to the funeral service.

.I am so sorry to hear of Skippy's passing. I know he has been suffering for quite sometime, now he doesn't have to anymore. I don't have to say what a great person he was, we already know that.
