Charles R. Gower, 77, of Cortland, N.Y., passed away on January 31, 2018 at the Cayuga Medical Center.
Charles was born on April 5, 1940 in Auburn, N.Y., the son of the late Floyd Gower and Christine Alnutt Gower.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed bowling at Cort-Lanes. After his retirement, Charles became a card player.
Charles is survived by his loving wife, Deanna Root Gower; sons Charles Gower Jr. and Floyd Gower; daughters Ann (Allan) Fisher, Joan (Tom) VanGorder, and Mary (Bert) Breese, as well as several siblings, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A calling hour will be held at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home Inc., on Monday February 5, 2018 from 11am-12pm with a memorial service to immediately follow.
