Obituary of Sharyn E. Guingo

Sharyn (Shary) Elizabeth Guingo, née Mitchinson, 72, of Cortland, NY, passed away on February 1, 2018. In accordance with Shary's wishes, there will be no services. Shary was born in Cortland to George and Arla (Long) Mitchinson on November 16, 1945. She attended Cortland High and graduated in 1963. She worked as a secretary for Hoffman Law Offices for many years before working at SUNY Cortland for the remainder of her career. She enjoyed spending time with her grandsons, shopping, and being with her pets. Shary is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and David VanHamlin, and grandsons, Liam and Kieran VanHamlin; daughter Valerie Flynn, and grandsons, Brody and Brayden Flynn, of Cortland; son-in-law, Joseph Flynn, of McGraw; her brother and sister-in-law, Don and Joyce Mitchinson, of Montana. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, George; mother, Arla; and sister, Sandy.
