Dorothy R. Nemecek, 74, of Cortland, passed away on February 18, 2018 at the Cortland Regional Medical Center.

Dorothy was born on August 22, 1943 in Cortland, the daughter of the late Charles Roberts and Esther Nye Roberts.

She spent her career, at New York State Electric and Gas as a computer operator until her retirement in 1999. Dorothy was an avid bowler and also enjoyed playing golf. She was a life member of the Loyal order of the Moose.

Dorothy is survived by her loving husband, Joseph; son Gregory (Michele) Roberts; daughter Brenda (Richard) Tyrakowski; grandchildren, Emma and Geoffrey ; a sister Phyllis (Robert) Ellis; a brother David Roberts; and sisters-in-law, Kathleen Roberts and Laura Roberts.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was predeceased by her brothers Richard, Stanley, and Harold Roberts.

Calling hours will be held at the Wright-Beard Funeral home on Thursday, March 1, 2018 from Noon to 2pm, with a memorial service to take place at 2pm.
