Obituary of Elberta Ray

Elberta Ulshoeffer Ray of Cortland passed away peacefully on March 4, 2018 surrounded by family at the Wesley Health Care Center in Saratoga Springs, NY. She was 90 years old. Elberta was born on October 6, 1927, the daughter of the late Elbert Ulshoeffer and the late Dorothy Hollister Ulshoeffer. She retired from F.E. Smith School as a Teacher Aide, after working for 35 years. She is predeceased by her husband of 64 years, James A. Ray. She is also predeceased by her son, Michael J. Ray. Elberta is survived by her 4 daughters, Susan (Gary) Jones, Barbara (Jake) Stomieroski, Mary Beth (Rocky Offner) Ray, Rebecca (Skip) Vickery, and daughter-in-law Mary (Wood) Ray. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Calling hours will be held Saturday 11 am-1 pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home Inc., 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland NY, 13045. Burial will follow at the St. Mary's Cemetery, Cortland NY.
