Obituary of Shirley S. Dickinson

Shirley Sickmon Dickinson, of Cortland, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her 3 children on March 10, 2018 at Cortland Regional Medical Center. She was born on August 15, 1924, in Cortland, NY to the late Ralph and Ida Barlow Sickmon. During her 93 years, Shirley was employed at Western Union during World War 2 and various banks in NJ and Arizona till she retired in 1979. Shirley was predeceased by her loving husband, Muncey William Dickinson of 71 years. Shirley is survived by her children William Dickinson, Stephanie Dunlap, John (Leah) Dickinson, grandson Corey Dickinson, granddaughter Kelsey (Jamie) Dickinson DeMarco and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Graveside services will be held in the spring at Cortland Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choosing.
