Obituary of Cora E. Storey
Please share a memory of Cora to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Cora "Midge" Storey, 70, of Apalachin, NY and formerly of Cortland, NY, died on April 4, 2018 surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Pitcher, NY, the daughter of the late Charles and Bernice (Bush) Storey.
Midge weighed just 3 lbs., 8 ozs. when she was born. Her father affectionately gave her the nickname of Midge due to her small size. Though she eventually grew taller than her sisters, she never outgrew the nickname. Midge worked in the food industry at various locations in Cortland.
She greatly enjoyed embroidery work, something she learned from her mother who she idolized and adored. Midge loved her family and her last thoughts were for them. Though sad to leave those of us who were left behind, knowing that she would be reunited with her loved ones who had passed on before her gave Midge comfort in her final moments on this earth.
She is survived by a son, Marty Randall of Marathon, siblings, Bernice (Tom) Rogers of Lake Como, Lil Monty of LaFayette, and Chuck (Carol) Storey of North Carolina, a special friend, Frank Lashway of Apalachin, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, Midge was predeceased by her siblings Martha, Robert, Orie (Doc) and Leslie Storey, Thelma Brown, and Josephine Albro.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 9th at Wright-Beard Funeral Home, 9 Lincoln Ave, Cortland with Rev. Allan Ferguson presiding. A calling hour will begin at 11:00 a.m. and the funeral will take place at 12:00 p.m. (noon).
Memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association.
