Dorothy Ann (Dot) Nitti, 80, of Cortland, NY, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on April 12, 2018 in St. Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse, NY. Funeral services will be held at Wright-Beard Funeral Home on Monday April 16, 2018 at 11am, with Deacon Stephen Smith of St. Mary's Church officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, 4101 West Rd. Cortland, NY. Visitation will be held at Wright-Beard on Sunday April 15, from 2-5pm. Dorothy was born in East Homer, NY to Anthony Natale and Mary Murphy Natale. She attended Cortland High School, and graduated in 1955. She retired from SUNY Cortland and worked in the Custodial Services, was in the Admistration and Payroll Department at the Cortland Nursing Home, and an Executive Secretary for Brockway Motor Trucks. She enjoyed spending time in Daytona Beach, cooking, baking, traveling to casinos with her husband, and most especially spending time with her family. Her devotion and dedication to her family will forever be remembered. Dorothy is survived by her husband and best friend of 58 years, Albert Nitti; son Thomas (Mary Kay) Nitti; son Steven Nitti; daughter Michelle (Randy) Congdon; son Mark Nitti (Heather Mitchell); grandchildren, Katelyn Nitti, Anthony Nitti, Caden Congdon, Cameron Nitti; Jacob Mitchell, and Christopher Downing; sister Mary Ellen (Louie) Opera; Anthony (Sandy) Natale; sister Carol (Pete) Sheridan; brother Frank Natale (Stella Partis). Dorothy will also be forever remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Anthony and Mary Natale; brother Leslie (Dunk) Natale; sister Patricia (Alfred) Giamichael; and sister-in-law Lynda Natale. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude.
