Carol J. Ackerman, 81, of Homer, passed away on Monday, July 30, 2018 at home.

 

 

Carol was born on December 9, 1936 in East Chicago, Indiana, daughter of the late Floyd and Beatrice Barrett Muir.  After relocating to Spencer, New York in 1970, Carol worked as a phlebotomist for Robert Packer Hospital in Pennsylvania.  She came to the Cortland area a few years ago to be closer to family.

 

Carol is survived by her son Richard (Tiffany) Ackerman of Homer, New York, her daughter Christina (Jorge) Hernandez of Atlanta, Georgia, her aunt Ruth Mulhern, sisters Diane Karp & Susan Preis, grandchildren Floyd Hernandez and Juno Ackerman, in-laws Darrell (Gayle) Ackerman, Fay (Carol) Avery, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

 

Calling Hours will be held Saturday August 11, 2018 from  2-4 pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home Inc., 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland NY, 13045.
