Obituary of Douglas C. Walling

Douglas C. Walling, 58, of Cortland passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Hospicare in Ithaca, NY. Douglas was born on November 21, 1959, in Cortland, the son of the late Douglas and Prudence Walling. Doug was an avid outdoorsman and loved to spend time hunting and fishing. While living in West Virginia he was employed as a bus driver for Randolph County Schools. Doug had a great love for his Harley Davidson and enjoyed riding. He was a member of The Brothers of the Wheel County Motorcycle Club. Doug also served his country as a United States Marine. Above all he was a devoted brother and friend to all. Doug is survived by his siblings, Juanita (Dan Condie) Poole, Julie (Jay) Rice, Paul Walling, Darlene (Joe) Aloi, Lisa (Todd) Miner. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will take place at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home, Inc. on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 from 3:00-4:00 pm. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Eagles Club on Port Watson Street, Cortland immediately following the memorial service. The burial will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at 11:00 am.
