Candyce R. (Young Barbis) Reynolds, 72 of Homer passed away on August 12, 2018 at Cortland Park Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born on April 14, 1946 in Cortland a daughter of the late Raymond and Gertrude Coleman Young.
Candyce has been a lifelong resident of the area, she attended Homer School and graduated from Union Springs Academy. She was employed throughout her career as an administration assistant for Dr. Gibbs, Larry Fitts appraisal town of Homer and Highgate Manor. She enjoyed driving around Homer and enjoyed trips for ice cream or coffee on her hoverround. Candyce played softball and bowled on area bowling leagues. She loved collecting elephants. Candyce looked forward to her monthly get together with her lunch bunch classmates. Above all Candyce enjoyed spending time with the grandkids. But what made her who she is, was in the way she gave to others unconditionally.
Candyce is survived by one son, "Tony" (Lori) Barbis, Homer, one brother, Eric (Nancy) Young, Homer, one sister, Chery Young DiMare, six grandchildren, Matthew, Luke, Alexis, Morgan, Andrew and Jade, two great grandchildren, Scarlett and Sophia, many nieces and nephews.
Candyce was predeceased by her parents, Gertrude Coleman and Raymond Young, two sisters Janice Stevens and Ronnie Riggs and one brother Kevin Young.
Calling hours for Mrs. Reynolds will be held Wednesday evening, 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Wright-Beard Funeral Home, Inc. 9 Lincoln Ave, Cortland with a time of sharing at 6:00 PM. Interment will take place at a later date in Atwater Cemetery.
