To Esther Mary's family & friends: Esther and I were born the same night, she at Cortland Hospital and I on the Fairbanks farm on Scott Rd. Since our parents were close friends, Esther and I celebrated our birthdays together for years, as our ancient family picture albums probably show. My career in Christian ministry took me to the western part of the country, but newspaper clippings sent by my family & friends, along with Esther's heart warming obituary tell me that my "twin" spent her whole energetic life DOING ministry while I was talking about it!
How richly blessed I feel after growing up with Esther and with he rfirst husband Gerald after we moved to a farm on the East Little York Rd. As 8th graders Jerry and I boarded the Greyhound bus bound for the Big City to attend the 1939 World's Fair together. Talk about a couple of wide eyed boys from the farm!
May your rich memories of such parents comfort and inspire you always.
