Irene M. Melfi, 80, of Groton, passed away October 3, 2018 at the Cortland Regional Medical Center. She is survived by her husband of 54 yrs William Melfi, her sons Tony Melfi, Mike Melfi, John Melfi, Anthony Melfi, her daughters Brenda (William) Jenney, Charlene (Pat)Haskell, Sheri Melfi, Kimberly Melfi, her brother, Joe Burnett, her sister in law Florence Burdett, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and many children she fostered for over fourty years. A calling hour will be held Monday 10:30-11 am with a funeral service to begin 11 am at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home inc., 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland NY, 13045 with Minister Walter Alexander presiding. Burial will follow at the Green Hills Cemetery, Dryden.
