Obituary of Robert Wilson

Robert "Bob" Wilson, 74, of Cortland passed away October 26, 2018 at Crown Park Rehab and Nursing Center.

Bob was raised and educated in Middletown, Ohio. He served with the U.S. Air Force from 1965-1967 during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged. After serving his country, Bob attended the Salvation Army College for Officer's which led to his lifelong career as Salvation Army officer. Throughout his career he served the Salvation Army in Maine, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts before retiring and relocating to Cortland to be closer to family in 2011. While living in Cortland Bob was a volunteer fireman with the Cortlandville Fire Sept. In his spare time he enjoyed reading and collecting Hess trucks.

He is survived by his wife of forty six years Joanne Wilson, his son James Wilson, many in laws, nieces and nephews.

Bob was predeceased by his parents Harold and Sarah Wilson, and his brother Michael Wilson.

Calling hours will be Thursday 4-7:30 pm pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home Inc., 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland NY, 13045.

Funeral services will be held Friday 10 am at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home. Burial services will military honors will be Friday 3 pm at the Bath National Cemetery, Bath NY.
