Obituary of Toni Seamans

Toni M. Seamans, age 70, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 6, 2018 surrounded by her family. She was born on November 16, 1947 in Cortland, NY to Felice (Phil) and Grace (Tinella) Evangelista. She was a 1965 graduate from Cortland High School, and remained a lifelong resident of Cortland. In 2010, she retired after working nearly 30 years for Cortland County. Toni was actively involved in the community volunteering her time at the Cortland Senior Center, Cortland Repertory Theater, and she was actively involved in local politics throughout her life. Toni touched so many lives with her vibrant personality and her generous spirit. She always made time to connect with people and share a smile and a hug to everyone she knew. Toni will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother (Meema), sister, aunt, and friend who loved spending time with her family. She is predeceased by her parents, siblings Pamela Scutt, Anthony Evangelista, Felice (Philly) Evangelista, Jr. Toni is survived by her brothers Christopher Evangelista, David Evangelista, Terence Evangelista; her children Seana Raker, Benjamin (Kristin) Seamans. Toni was an incredibly loving grandmother to Brandon Linderman, Justin Raker, Bailey Raker and Mia Seamans. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and countless friends. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the nursing staff from Wilson Hospital and Lourdes Hospice of Binghamton for their compassionate care. Private services will be held to celebrate Toni's life.
