Obituary of Marjorie J. Amidon

Marjorie Jane Ryan Amidon, 93, of Homer, NY passed away November 14, 2018 at the Groton Community Health Care Center, Groton, NY, following a brief illness. Marjorie was born January 3, 1925 in Cortland, NY, the daughter of the late Orris and Bertha Rounds Ryan. She graduated from Cortland High School in 1942. Marjorie worked at several different places over the years. She prepared taxes for H&R Block and worked for Wilsons Jewelers in Cortland, NY. Marjorie was also an avid NASCAR fan. She was a member of Eastern Star. She is survived by her daughter Janet (Patrick) Fahey of Windsor IL, grandchildren Abigail (David) Sonne of Naperville IL, Sean (Amanda) Fahey of Paoli, Indiana, and Kyle Fahey of Chicago IL, her great grandchildren Marshall and Remi Fahey, of Paoli, Indiana. Also, her nephews Gary (Debi) Howe, Sr. Of Groton, Skip (Joan) Howe of Copperas Cove, Texas and niece Patty Howe Gallow of Taylor, NY. Marjorie was predeceased by her husband C J "Pete" Amidon, her sister, Beverly and brother-in-law, Francis Howe, her sister-in-law Jayne Amidon Abdallah, her nephew Kevin Howe and her great nephew David Howe. Marjorie's family would like to thank the staff at the Groton Nursing Home for taking such wonderful care of her during her stay. Graveside services will be announced in the Spring at Glenwood Cemetery, Homer, NY at the convenience of the family. The Wright-Beard Funeral Home is serving the family.
